Brian , Gerry and Nuno

It all started with a conversation: The Senate is a great place. How can
we make it better?

This simple question brought together Brian Liu, Gerry Hough, and Nuno
Sanches e Silva to form a team to run for Co-Presidents of MIT Sloan's
student body.

As Sloan Senators during Fall 2009, Brian, Gerry, and Nuno witnessed
first-hand view the importance of the Senate in connecting Sloanies with the administration and faculty: from bringing key issues to light (like Mark Ritson's future at Sloan) to providing responses to
(Finance I during the Core).

Energetic. Action-Oriented. Leaders. By bringing together our diverse backgrounds and abilities we have united as a team that is passionate about positively impacting the Sloan community.

Committed to addressing your needs and concerns. After careful thought and conversations with fellow students, we've identified three specific areas where we can have an immediate impact on Sloan:

•	Careers - Working, in partnership with the CDO, to meet the needs of students, specifically those interested in less traditional business careers
o	Improving the utility of Career Central and resources library
o	Creating a 1-on-1 alumni career mentoring service
•	Communication - Improving communication lines between all members of the Sloan community
o	Creating one central, accessible Sloan calendar
o	Leveraging social media to increase awareness and collaboration
•	Classroom - Enhancing the academic experience and elevating the student voice in academic matters
o Initiating an informal student-run feedback system for classes/professors
o	Promoting academic team diversity and collaboration beyond the Core

Your vote is important.

The Sloan community is full of great ideas about how we can improve classes, SloanPoint, and so on. This year, the Senate made good progress on implementing them; it upgraded the Idea Drive, got electronic distribution of class calendars, and organized the charity auctions.

The elite assembled and are eager to compete. They look ready. At subzero temperatures one guy, (300lbs + type) is taking a cozy outdoor bubble bath, heated over an open fire. Other competitors in flashy costumes exhibit their shiny toboggans, carefully pre-waxed for months and discuss last minute adaptations to factor in snow conditions, temperature and the state of the piste.
