The 2008 installment of the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition reached record proportions last month with an all-time-high 232 teams entering the MIT $100K Business Plan Contest to vie for over $400,000 in cash prizes. That is some serious cheese, donated by very generous sponsors to jump start companies from MIT. (0) comments
On the 20th of March 2008, 30 MIT Sloanies will embark on an unforgettable trip that will produce memories of a lifetime. We plan to take on Ghana over the Spring break period, as part of a Study Tour trip. Even though the traveling group includes 5 Africans, every student is extremely fired up about visiting the capital city of Ghana. (0) comments
Think you can spot the next Facebook or YouTube? On March 7th, a team of five MIT Sloan 2nd years played “VC” in the Northeast regional qualifying round of the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) at NYU. Sim Blaustein, Gaetan Bonhomme, Nikhil Garg, Bob Meese, and Eric Varma, members of a team made up of MBA ’08s, came through with a first-place finish and earned the right to defend MIT’s title in the international finals at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in April.
